About me

This is a first post, where I will briefly summarize on my journey in life and how I ended up as a newly graduated developer in 2024.

Problem solving

I have, since I was a kid, always had an interest for understanding how things work. By taking my toys apart and then trying to assemble them withouth them breaking was something I liked to do. When I eventually started playing with lego I would construct secret bases, factories and other contraptions.

I can remember that the things I built freehand was often the most captivating and time consuming projects. Getting up every saturday morning to just build, build, build.

Eventually I became a chef and used my talent for dismantling things in my cooking. Breaking classical dishes apart and building them up again differently to create new experiences. A practice in modern gastronomy called deconstructed cusine initially introduced by chefs like Ferràn Adria and Heston Blumenthal. Initially trained in the at-the-time gastromic centre of the world, Copenhagen, I later moved to Norway where I worked and lived in beautiful Geiranger.

Exploring flavors and combinations is exciting and the satisfaction of cooking something good for myself and others is something I still enjoy to this day.

I took a break from cooking for two years in my mid 30's due to an work-life imbalance that eventually caused me to burnout. During this time I became a wilderness guide and spent most of my time in the outdoors together with my classmates at Outdoor Academy. During this time in life I gained a lot of insights around myself, leadership and group dynamics.

After spending 2 years in various locations in northern Scandinavia I moved back to southern Sweden where I am now based. I started casually play around with an app designed to learn Swift to beginners and sort of got excited about computers again. Eventually I applied to a trade school program to study system development.

Now about 2 years later from when I got the acceptance letter I have now written my very first blogpost hosted on a personal VPS with Next.js and Docker. Its exciting and yet I feel that Ive just touched the tip of the iceberg on what my new career is to become.
